Questions people ask

No. Players join in the web browser on their phone by scanning a QR code or typing a 5-letter code at instaquiz.app. They never make an account or give an email address.

Up to 8 players for free. With a £5 party pass, up to 50 players can join one game. Playing in teams with one phone each stretches that a long way: 8 phones covers about 40 people.

So the ending is a surprise. Each player sees whether their own answer was right, but nobody sees the standings until you reveal the podium: third, then second, then the winner.

A right answer scores between 500 and 1,000 points: the faster you answer, the more you get. With the timer off, every right answer scores 750. In the wager finale you stake some of your points on one last question.

Yes, until the answers lock. The speed bonus then counts from the new answer.

No. Players join in the lobby, before the first question. Anyone whose phone drops out can rejoin their own seat with the same code.

Just your phone. Open instaquiz.app, tap Host a quiz, pick a pack and share the code. You read each question out, so it feels like a real quiz night rather than a screen.

Not for the free packs. You can host one straight away. An account will come with the party pass, so your pass follows you between phones.

Yes. Turn on "I'm playing too" in the game settings. You answer on the same timer without seeing the answer first, and your score is shown to you at the end, off the podium.

End the game early from any screen and choose "Show results so far" to go straight to the podium, scored up to the last answer you revealed.

About a minute and a half a question, with reading, answering and the reveal. 30 questions takes around 45 minutes.

No. You can run the whole quiz from your phone and read the questions out. If you want a big screen, open instaquiz.app/tv on a smart TV browser or a laptop and connect it from your phone.

The join code and QR in the lobby, each question with the timer and how many have answered, the right answer at the reveal, round breaks and the podium. It never shows the running scores.

Please don't: the quiz master's phone shows who has answered and, at the reveal, the answer. Open instaquiz.app/tv on the TV or on a laptop instead, and mirror the laptop if you like.

No. The party pass is a one-off £5. It lasts 48 hours from the start of your first game and does not renew.

Games of up to 8 players, a TV screen and, until 31 January 2027, every question pack. After that the free packs stay free.

Yes, soon. "Your own quiz" is a one-off £20 for a personalised quiz: your own questions and photos, your names and colours on the TV, and up to 150 phones. It suits weddings, Christmas parties, work events, birthdays, retirements, and stag and hen dos. Register your interest on the pricing page and we will email you when it opens.

Very little. Players sign in anonymously and never give an email address. They pick a name for the game, and their private results are cleared from their phone when they leave.

No. InstaQuiz has nothing to do with Instagram or Meta, and never asks you to sign in with them.
